about

After my mother passed away around my 17th birthday, I spent some time alone in the family house. Everyone just left, carried away by grief. Her lover disappeared, my brother went to live with his girlfriend and my father was not living with us then. It was a horrible time, being alone in the house where my mom had just died.
Then my sister came to live in the house with me. Suddenly I was surrounded by her children, my nieces, and her husband. The house relived, it was a terrible and wonderful time all at once. Just plainly unexplainable what it was like these days. But I will always be grateful to my sister because what I feel is that she saved me from sinking very deep. I remember her one morning, drinking Gin at 8am, crying in the kitchen. We were a beautiful wreckage, sticking together in the midst of the storm.

lyrics

Your favorite drink was gin tonic and lime
And thousand tears of grief

Your face was black with make up running
All the way down your cheeks

The kitchen table was holding its breath
It tried to keep you from drowning

We were together in this
Hell of a time

Sister I saw you down in that well
We couldn't be much deeper

Yet joy was all around pain away for a while
You made me feel safe and sound

We shared our meals you drunk, me high
It was a breath of life

We were together in this
Hell of a time
